Getting started with Russian Solitaire
Try Russian Solitaire at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Look at what changes after your first action. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.
Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.
Bring this focus to a round
Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow. Use the example to check your reasoning.
What counts as success
Build four suit foundations from ace to king. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Start with a deliberate move.
The steps to play
- Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
- Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
- Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
- Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.
Making selections and moves
Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Use the control method described here for this activity. Look at the feedback after the action.
Follow the example
A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Take a moment to compare.
Keep this in mind
Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
